The Winmau World Masters 2016 were held from the 1st until the 4th of December in the Lakeside Country Club in Frimley Green. Reigning champion Glen Durrant reached the final again this year, claiming his back-to-back title by defeating Mark McGeeney 6-3.
On his road tot he final the man from Middlesbrough sent home Norbert Attard (3-0), Davy van Baelen (3-1), Wesley Harms (4-3) and Jamie Hughes (5-0). McGeeney reached the final by surprising second seed Scott Mitchell in the semifinal. At the last sixteen McGeeney already ended the hopes of Scott Waites.
