Nick Rolls

Nick Rolls began his refereeing career in 2005 calling for the county of Berkshire in England. Nick's brother Jay played for Berkshire and when the regular caller didn't show up one day, Jay suggested that Nick give calling a go and that started his career.

He made his television debut on the 17th of November 2007 during the Winmau World Masters and on his first day called the John Walton nine darter against Martin Phillips, thus becoming the referee who had to wait the shortest time to call a televised nine dart leg.

Having refereed at virtually all the major BDO tournaments between 2007 and the 2019 World Championship, Nick is now one of the WDFs regular major tournament referees.

Nick has also been part of the WDF Cup refereeing team since 2015 and along with Richard Ashdown and Jacques Nieuwlaat has assisted in managing all of the floor and stage matches across Europe and the world.

In 2020 Nick joined the World Darts Federation’s board of directors as the Secretary General and now plays a large part in the organising and delivering of the World Championships as well as continuing to referee on the famous Lakeside stage and at various WDF ranked tournaments across Europe.
