WDF World Cup Youth Boys Singles

The WDF World Cup Youth is held since 1977 and organised by the World Darts Federation. The tournament is opened for ladies in 1983 and in 1999 the youth is also finally invited. The tournament is known as the official World Championship but hasn’t got the profile of either the BDO or the PDC World Championships. It is a gathering of players from all parts of the World who meet and play in a very friendly atmosphere.

The 22nd edition was recently held in Cluj-Napoca in Romania in 2019.

Boys singles
Many of the winners in the boys' singles will be seen later in the big senior tournaments. Although the transition sometimes takes a while and they are not automatically immediately world champion candidates. The only youth player who has done this is Stephen Bunting. He wins the WDF World Cup Youth boys singles in 2001 and is crowned BDO world champion in 2014. In the eleven WDF World Cup Youths in youth history, the winner comes from the Netherlands five times and England wins twice. The other winners come from Finland, Hungary, Wales and Australia.

The Englishman Keelan Kay is the defending champion. He won the tournament in Cluj-Napoca in 2019.
