The twentieth edition of the Winmau World Masters is a tumultuous edition. Earlier in 1993, sixteen top players separated from the BDO and started their own darting organisation, the PDC. Because of this, the World Masters have a new field of contestants without any former champions.

Steve Beaton is the first champion in the new era of the World Masters. He defeats Scotsman Les Wallace in the final 3-1. Ian Carpenter and Paul Williams are the losing semi-finalists.
