In the first weekend of December the sixteenth edition of the World Masters is being held at the Kensington Rainbow in London. Three times winner Bob Anderson was not able to reach the last 32 this year, giving other players opportunities. Peter Evison wins in 1989, beating Eric Bristow in the final.
In the semi-finals Evison defeats Bristow’s apprentice Phil Taylor. Bristow himself ends Jocky Wilson’s hopes.
