The 17th edition of the BDO Ladies World Championship was held from 7-15 January at the Lakeside Country Club in Frimley Green. Lisa Ashton would win the title for the third time in her career and she did so without conceding a set.
She defeated successively Sharon Prins, Fallon Sherrock, Aileen de Graaf and Corrine Hammond en route to the title. The biggest surprise came in the first round when the number one in the world; Deta Hedman loses to Casey Gallagher. Corrine Hammond is the player who benefits from this. She defeats Gallagher in round two and then also Dobromyslova in the semi-finals. Australia's Hammond became the first non-European player to reaches the final of the Ladeis World Championship.
