In 2012 Russian Anastasia Dobromyslova returns to Lakeside. After three years with the rival organisation of the PDC she immediately wins the title back that she had left in 2008. She gets through to the main stage after she battled her way through the qualifying tournament and beats Julie Gore, Trina Gulliver and Deta Hedman at that time the numbers three, two and one of the world in the ladies game.
It is already the third year in a row without Dutch contribution at the highest level. It is also only the first time that The Golden Girl Trina Gulliver does not reach the final of the World Championship.
