Not losing a set at the Ladies World Championships became custom to Trina Gulliver. in 2006 she managed to win all her matches 2-0 again. Francis Hoenselaar played the final against Gulliver again, but she could not keep Gulliver away from her sixth world title.
Gulliver defeated Clare Bywaters in the semi-final and won her first round match against qualifier Karen Littler. Hoenselaar sent Jan Robbins home in the semi-final and defeated Karen Lawman in the quarterfinal.
