The 2020 BDO World Professional Darts Championship was held from 4 to 11 January at Indigo at the O2 in London. Sixteen ladies took a shot at the title. Mikuru Suzuki won the title for the second year in a row. For the first time in the ladies tournament history it moves to a new venue. The new BDO board relocates it from the Lakeside Country Club to London. The Indigo at the O2 is the new location.

On behalf of the Netherlands, Aileen de Graaf and Sharon Prins are participating in the World Championship. De Graaf manages to deal with Kirsty Hutchinson in the first round, while Sharon Prins is eliminated by Anastasia Dobromyslova. Title holder Mikuru Suzuki beats Mario O’Brien 2-1 and quadruple champion Lisa Ashton is 2-0 too strong for Paula Jacklin. Beau Greaves, who is just fifteen years old, managed to beat Tori Kewish, after which she was also responsible for the elimination of Aileen de Graaf in the quarterfinals.

Lisa Ashton, Corrine Hammond and Mikuru Suzuki also take victories in the quarterfinals. The dreamed final between Suzuki and Ashton is on the way, after the Japanese wins 2-1 against Greaves and the English with 2-0 beats Hammond. In the final, Suzuki is way too strong for Ashton: "Miracle" wins 3-0 and takes the title for the second year in a row.
