For the first time a German lady competed at the Ladies World Championship in 2010. Russian born Irina Armstrong played qualifier Deta Hedman in the quarterfinal, but had to bow her head to the English player. Trina Gulliver won the tournament for the eighth time.
Gulliver ended the hopes of the Welsh qualifier Rhian Edwards in the final, who had surprisingly beat Julie Gore in the quarterfinals and defeated Karen Lawman in the last four. Gulliver defeated Hedman in the semi-final and saw off Francis Hoenselaar in the quarterfinal, with Hoenselaar being the only Dutch contestant in 2010.
