Eight ladies battle in 2013 for the world title. In the first round three of the four seeded players loose immediately, Russian Anastasia Dobromyslova is the only seed that survives the first selection. The nine-times world champion Trina Gulliver is not even placed for this edition, but will win her first round match against Julie Gore who was placed third.
The number one of the world Deta Hedman loses in the first round to Lisa Ashton, who will also reach the final at the expense of the Dutch qualifier Sharon Prince. After Dobromyslova beats Gulliver in the semi-finals she wins the final versus Ashton and grabs the world title for the second year in a row and the third time in total.
