Four years in a row Trina Gulliver ruled the ladies at the Winmau World Masters, but in 2006 there comes an end to that dominance. From 13 to 15 October, the anniversary edition of the World Masters is played at Leisure World in Bridlington. The 25th edition sees Francis Hoenselaar claim her second title.
The Dutch Crown defeats her rival Trina Gulliver in the semi-finals with 4-2 and beats fellow countrywoman Karin Krappen in the final 4-3. For the first in history there are no English-speaking players in the final. In the semi-finals, three of the four players are from the Netherlands. Besides Krappen and Hoenselaar, Carla Molema is the third Dutchie. She loses 4-2 to Krappen.
