The 38th edition of the World Masters for women was held from 25 to 27 October at the Circus Tavern, Purfleet. Just like a year earlier, Lisa Ashton managed to win the title. It’s the third time she tooks the title. The most remarkable news in 2019 is that Winmau disappears as title sponsor and L-Style and One80 take over.
Ashton starts the tournament with victories over Zandra Charbonneau, Debbie Ivey, Anne Willkomm and Margaret Sutton. In the quarterfinals, she is responsible for the elimination of Mayumi Ouchi. A round later, another Japanese is beaten: this time Ashton beats Kasumi Sato. In the final she is also too strong for Anastasia Dobromyslova. After an exciting final, Ashton wins the deciding leg: 5-4.
World champion Mikuru Suzuki loses in the last 32 with 4-2 to Steffi Luck.
