In 1987, the World Masters had to do without English involvement in the semi-finals. In 1988, the semi-finals were completely filled with ladies from England.
Eventually Mandy Solomons is the strongest of the bunch; she beats Maureen Flowers in the final. For Flowers it’s the second loss in a finals in this tournament, she will never again come this far. Solomons will win the title three more times in the years after 1988.
