The tenth edition of the Winmau World Masters for the ladies is played on 6 and 7 December at the Ramada Inn Hotel in London. For the second time in history the winner does not come from Britain. After New Zealand’s Barnett in 1985, this year it’s America’s Sandy Reitan who claims the title.

Reitan defeats the surprising Norwegian Hege Lokken in the final. Australian Louise Ball and Dutch ace Francis Hoenselaar complete the semi-finals line-up. Especially the latter is a name that will frequently come back in the history of the World Masters. With only one English lady in the quarterfinals, this is a difficult year for the country that so often reigns in the big tournaments.
