Kirk Bevins

Kirk Bevins is the youngest of the PDC callers at this time. He replaces Bruce Spendley in 2013 when he retires. He started in 2010 so he made a rapid career in the game of dart. In 2009, he became the British 'Countdown' champion on Channel 4. Bevins can count rapidly and has also been a math teacher before he picked up the microphone.

Before he was at university, he'd never watched a top dart player up close but when they got The Assassin Martin Atkins in for an exhibition, he decided to referee it. Martin thought he was good and asked him to shout for his county, Yorkshire. H did that and the feedback was they had thought he'd been shouting for years!

He then became a volunteer marked on the pro tour for two years before he got offered the job when Bruce Spendley retired. He jumped at the chance and had a trial refereeing at the World Matchplay in Blackpool. He also did some marking onstage at a couple of events to get used to the lights and the stage and now he is doing his dream job!

Kirks hobbies include railways, travelling and quizzes and he loves a good bargain!
