German Darts Championship

In 2012 the PDC launches the Euro Tour. On the European continent, the Pro Tour tournaments disappear and the tournaments are played on big stages with big audiences in the venue.

The German Darts Championship is on the calendar from the first year. In 2012 the tournament is played in Berlin. The tournament is moved to Hildesheim in 2013 where the event is still played today.

Phil Taylor wins the first edition and almost each year after that a different player wins. Dave Chisnall, Gary Anderson, Alan Norris and Peter Wright are all on the list of honour. Michael van Gerwen is the only player to claim the title twice, in 2015 and 2018.

In 2012 Colin Lloyd is the only player so far to hit a perfect leg. He hits the 9-darter against Alex Roy in the first round.
