In 2012 the PDC launches the Euro Tour. On the European continent, the Pro Tour tournaments disappear and the tournaments are played on big stages with big audiences in the venue.

In the second year there are eight tournaments in the series. England, Gibraltar, The Netherlands and Austria each get one stop and Germany is visited four times. Sixty-four players compete in the first round on two stages. From the second round the tournament continues on one stage.

The German Darts Championship 2013 was played from 6 to 8 September in Hildesheim. In 2012 the tournament was held in Berlin, but that city is not visited in 2013. For Dave Chisnall three times is a charm. After two lost finals in 2012, the Englishman wins the final this time, beating Peter Wright. It is certainly not effortless because on his way to the final Chisnall wins 6-5 four times and 6-4 once. On paper the finals is his easiest match because he wins it 6-1.
