The sixth edition of the German Darts Championship was held from 24 to 26 March in Hildesheim. The tournament also gets another winner for the sixth consecutive time. This year Snakebite Peter Wright claims the title. He defeats Michael van Gerwen 6-3 in the final.
Wright has a few tough matches in Hildesheim. He wins his first match against Dutchman Christian Kist in a decisive leg and in the semi-final the Scot survives a match dart against Gerwyn Price. In between those matches he also beats Stephen Bunting and Kim Huybrechts.
This tournament also has a first when Diogo Portela makes his debut on the Euro Tour. He is the first ever Brazilian to do so, he wins his first match against Martin Schindler, but is beaten a round later by Kim Huybrechts. For Peter Wright it’s his second Euro Tour victory, the first was in 2014 during the European Darts Open.
