The 2014 Players Championships Finals were held from 28 November to 30 November in Minehead. Gary Anderson won his first major title since winning the Premier League in 2011. The Scot was seeded first for the tournament and lived up to his status by successively beating Christian Kist, Stephen Bunting, Phil Taylor, Vincent van der Voort and Adrian Lewis in the final.

Lewis also played a great tournament with victories over Dave Chisnall, Andy Smith, Jamie Caven and Wes Newton. The seventh edition of this tournament had Michael van Gerwen as the title holder and also the number one in the world rankings. However, Terry Jenkins eliminated the Dutchman in the second round.

The surprise of the tournament was another Dutchman, Vincent van der Voort. He reached the semi-final of a major televised tournament for the first time since the 2008 UK Open. The man from Purmerend defeated Andy Hamilton, Peter Wright and Dean Winstanley.
