High finish

From 28 to 31 January 2010 the 32 best floor players from 2009 gather for the second time in the Circus Tavern to go compete for the title of the Players Championship Finals.

In 2010 Phil Taylor is defeated in the semi-finals by the Australian Englishman Paul Nicholson. It is Nicholson’s major breakthrough in the PDC. Besides the victory over Taylor, he also beats Adrian Lewis, among others. Nicholson wins the tournament by beating Mervyn King in the final.

King had beaten Colin Osborne in the semi-finals, Osborne had a wonderful year in 2009 in which he had climbed to number three on the Players Championship Order of Merit. Number two in those rankings Mark Walsh somewhat disappointed by losing in round two to Wayne Jones. Taylor was again seeded first this year.
