On 21 and 22 November the first edition of the World Series Finals is played at the Braehead Arena in Glasgow. The best eight players from the five World Series events qualify. The field is completed with 16 qualifiers and invitees from around the world.
Michael van Gerwen is almost unstoppable in 2015 and in Glasgow he again proves the best, though he certainly has to play his best to win. In the quarterfinal against compatriot Raymond van Barneveld, he finds himself down 4-7 but wins six of the last seven legs and wins 10-8. In the final against Peter Wright, Van Gerwen finds himself behind again. At 9-10 Wright needs only one leg, but at that moment Van Gerwen takes out a 129 finish and hits an 11-darts finish in the final leg of the match.
Peter Wright remains waiting for his first title in a TV tournament. The colourful Scot plays a very good tournament including victories over James Wade and Phil Taylor, but has to settle for second place again.
