The fifth edition of the World Cup of Darts was played between 11-14 June 2015 in Frankfurt. After three years in Hamburg the tournament moved to the west of Germany.
Beforehand there are three big favourites for the title, England, Scotland and the Netherlands. All three teams reach the semi-finals. Belgium, with the brothers Huybrechts complete the last four. England win the first semi-final 2-0 against Belgium. Defending champions Netherlands and Scotland stand at 1-1 after two singles. A pairs match must bring the decision. Scotland plays much better in that pair and advances to the final for the first time in history.
The final is very close. All four players are in good form and that ensures a tight battle. Taylor wins the first single against Peter Wright, then Gary Anderson beats Adrian Lewis. With the score tied at one, the pairs match is won in a seventh and deciding leg by the English. Anderson then does win again, this time versus Taylor. Adrian Lewis and Peter Wright now have to decide who wins the World Cup. Lewis in that match is just a little better and so England for the third time picks up the PDC World Cup of Darts.
