The fifth edition of the European Darts Open was played from 29 to 31 July. The venue for this event remains the same; The Maritim Hotel in Düsseldorf.
Michael van Gerwen proves to be the strongest on the Euro Tour yet again. He beats Jamie Caven, Kyle Anderson, Jelle Klaasen, Kim Huybrechts and Peter Wright. With this win he claims his fourth Euro Tour title in 2016, the twelfth in total.
Peter Wright is also a big fan of Dusseldorf as he has reaches the final for a second time here. In the first round the Scot survives four match darts from Steve West, but then he impresses on his way to the final with victories over Gerwyn Price, Mensur Suljovic and Stephen Bunting.
