The fourth edition of the European Darts Open 2015 was played from 10 to 12th of July. The Maritim Hotel at the Düsseldorf airport is for the fourth consecutive year the stunning location for this event.

It became a wonderful weekend for Robert Thornton. He won his first Euro Tour tournament beat Belgian ace Kim Huybrechts in the final. Until this tournament Thornton had never been past the quarterfinals at the Euro Tour. Thornton defeated en route to the final Dimitri Van den Bergh, Simon Whitlock, Jelle Klaasen and James Wade. In almost every match the Scotsman threw an average of over 100.

Kim Huybrechts played very strong for the second Euro Tour event in a row. At the International Darts Open in Riesa, he reached the semi-finals, this time he went one better. In the semi final, the Belgian beat the man who dominates this year's Euro Tour; Michael van Gerwen. Before that, he also beats Brendan Dolan, Michael Smith and Jyhan Artut.
