In 1995 Phil Taylor starts his dominance over the WC’s in the PDC. In the poule matches The Power almost loses to the American Gerald Verrier, maybe the worst game Taylor ever played in the WC, but like ever other great sportsman in history, Taylor still knows to win the game. The semi finale against John Lowe is also an exciting event, but this time it’s a feast for both players. It’s a spectacular piece that Phil Taylor wins in the end with 5-4. Rod Harrington is his opponent in the finale of 1995 and only wins 2 sets. With that, Phil Taylor has his first World Title in his pocket.

The defending champ and number one of the world, Dennis Priestley, does not make it through the poule phase. He loses 0-3 to John Lowe, who in his turn manages to make it to the semi finales.
