2012 will go down in the books as the orange year. There are 6 Dutch players that toe the oche in Wolverhampton and most of them are doing great. Jan Dekker and Co Stompe don't survive the group stage, but Michael van Gerwen, Wesley Harms, Christian Kist and Raymond van Barneveld do. In the second round Van Gerwen takes out the odds on favorite Phil Taylor in a fabulous match and a round later he also takes out 2010 champion; Scott Waites in impressively manor. Van Gerwen reaches the final in 2012. Wesley Harms losses his second round match to Raymond van Barneveld, after he beat Terry Jenkins in the group stage with a fantastic display. Christian Kist wins his second round match in a decisive leg to Wes Newton, but one round later must also acknowledge the superiority of Barney. Van Barneveld reaches the final in 2012, his first in a major TV tournament for over two years and faces Michael van Gerwen in the final. it will be a wonderful finale which is ultimately won by The Man from Teh Hague with 16-14. He wins his first major TV title in over five years, van Gerwen hits no less than four 170 finishes this year which is unique.
