The eighth edition of the Gibraltar Darts Trophy was played from September 24 to 26, 2021 and won by Gerwyn Price. In the final he beats Mensur Suljovic 8-0. It is the Welshman's fifth EuroTour victory and his second in 2021.
Price starts the tournament in the second round with a 6-1 win over Florian Hempel. He then beats Australian Damon Heta in the last 16. The crucial match for Price comes in the quarterfinals when he defeats Michael van Gerwen in a decisive leg. Then he beat Nathan Aspinall relatively easily 7-3 and in the final he claims the title against Mensur Suljovic 8-0.
It is the seventh final on the EuroTour for the Austrian, the first since September 2019. On his way to the final, he narrowly beats Kim Huybrechts in the second round 6-5. Then he gets into his rhythm and wins big against Jose de Sousa 6-1 and 6-2 against Krzysztof Ratajski. He beat Simon Whitlock 7-5 in the semi-final.
Kim Huybrechts and Callan Rydz both impress in the first round with an average of over 100 and a big win. Peter Wright is the biggest victim in the second round as Rydz again plays very strong and with an average of more than 110 wins 6-3 against Snakebite, who also puts 108 on the board. Four more seeded players fly out in their first game. Michael Smith loses to Simon Whitlock, Dirk van Duijvenbode to Ted Evetts, Jonny Clayton to Adam Smith-Neale and Devon Peterson loses to Gabriel Clemens.
