The German Darts Grand Prix was held in Munich from April 16 to 18. Luke Humphries manages to win a EuroTour tournament for the first time in his career. The Englishman beats the surprisingly strong Martin Lukeman in the final.
Plenty of Dutch players take action on the first day. Raymond van Barneveld has no problems with James Wilson and beats the Englishman 6-0. Vincent van der Voort and Jeffrey de Zwaan play a game against each other, which De Zwaan won 6-5. Wesley Plaisier and Berry van Peer also reach the next round. Jermaine Wattimena loses 6-3 to Martin Schindler. American Danny Baggish plays for the first time in a EuroTour tournament and wins his first match 6-2 against Thomas Junghans.

In the last sixteen, Plaisier and Van Duijvenbode play against each other. It's the surprising Plaisier with a 6-5 win and thus advances to the quarterfinals. Van Gerwen beats Rob Cross 6-3, while Humphries beat Michael Smith with the same numbers. The strongest player of this round is Martin Schindler. The German beats Ryan Searle 6-1 and throws an average of 109.24. Lukeman is 6-5 too strong for Keane Barry and Damon Heta, Jonny Clayton and Keegan Brown also qualify for the quarterfinals.
In the quarterfinals, Plaisier is close to a suprising victory, but he narrowly loses 6-5 to Humphries. The Englishman will play in the semi-finals against Van Gerwen, who beats Brown 6-2. Heta beats Clayton 6-5 in an exciting match and Lukeman continues to do well. This time he beats Schindler 6-4. In the end, the Englishman even manages to reach the final, because he beats Damon Heta 7-5. The other finalist will be Luke Humphries, after handing out a whitewash to Michael van Gerwen. Humphries wins the match 7-0 and averages 107.36.
Martin Lukeman or Luke Humphries will win a EuroTour tournament for the first time. It is ultimately favorite Humphries who turns out to be the strongest. He beats the big surprise of the tournament, Lukeman 8-2 and can thus call himself German Darts Grand Prix champion of 2022.
