The sixth edition of the German Darts Grand Prix was held from 30 March to 1 April in the Zenith Kulturhalle in Munich. This is the second Eurotour of 2024. Luke Humphries takes the title by beating Michael van Gerwen in the final.
Defending champion Michael Smith loses in the final 16 to Josh Rock from Northern Ireland. Humphries and van Gerwen both start the tournament in the second round. Humphries opens up against the Englishman Luke Woodhouse, who makes it to the second round after beating the Dutchman Niels Zonneveld. Humphries wins 6-3. Michael van Gerwen wins against fellow Dutchman Jeffrey de Zwaan 6-4 that same Sunday.
On Easter Monday, Humpries beats Englishmen Ryan Searle (6-0), Nathan Aspinall (6-4), and the Welshman Gerwyn Price (7-3). His opponent in the final, Michael van Gerwen, beats the Englishman Joe Cullen (6-5), Dutchman Jermaine Wattimena (6-2) and German Martin Schindler (7-2).
Humphries is nigh on unstoppable in the final, and van Gerwen doesn’t stand a chance. He puts down an impressive average of 112.66 and beats him 8-1. This is the sixth EuroTour title for Luke Humphries, his first in 2024. For van Gerwen, the counter stays at 36 EuroTour titles, he has now played 48 finals.
