The second edition of the European Darts Matchplay is played from May 13-15 and held at the Insel Parkhalle in Hamburg. James Wade proves the strongest in Germany; he beats Dave Chisnall 6-5 in the final.
En route to the final Wade successively defeats Jonny Clayton, Gary Anderson and Benito van de Pas before he knocks out defending champion Michael van Gerwen in the semi-final. It is the first defeat for the Dutchman on the Euro Tour this year.
Dave Chisnall qualifies for his second Euro Tour tournament final in a row with victories over Ron Meulenkamp, John Henderson, Mensur Suljovic and Peter Wright. But just as in Gibraltar a week earlier Chizzy has to settle for second place again this tournament.
