The second edition of the Women's World Matchplay was held on 23 July in arguably the most beautiful darts hall of all, The Empress Ballroom in the Winter Gardens, Blackpool. Beau Greaves was the big favourite in advance and fully lived up to that role. in the final she beats the number two on the seeding list, the Japanese Mikuru Suzuki 5-3.

Fallon Sherrock is the defending champion, she defeated Aileen de Graaf in the final last year, but both ladies lose in the first round this year. Sherrock bows out against Lisa Ashton in a seventh and decisive leg. Aileen de Graaf loses 4-2 to Suzuki.

Beau Greaves defeated Noa-Lynn van Leuven 4-0 in the first round and then Ireland's Robyn Byrne in the semi-finals. Suzuki beats Lisa Ashton in the other semi-final. The final will never be a real match because Greaves is just too strong. She only misses a lot of doubles, so the average is not high. With a 5-0 lead, the English misses two match darts, allowing Suzuki to put one leg on the board. A leg later, however, it is still over and Beau Greaves is crowned World Matchplay champion for the first time.
