On November 4, the best 96 youth players of the world gathered in Wigan to compete for a place in that final of the ninth edition of the PDC Youth World Cup.

Luke Humphries is one of the favourites for the title prior to the tournament and he is the first to reach the final. Victories over Xiao-Chen Zong and Keelan Kay in the group stage put him in the knockout stage. There he successively wins against Berry van Peer, Niels Zonneveld, Jeffrey de Zwaan and Keane Barry.

The other half of the game schedule is much more surprising. The Czech Adam Gawlas surprises friend and foe by eliminating Dan Read and Rhys Griffin in the group. Then the 17-year-old, who only started nine months ago with darts, beats Max Hopp, Harry Ward, Callan Rydz and Ryan Meikle and thus qualifies for the final

On November 24, the final of the ninth edition of the PDC Youth World Championship was played on the stage of the Butlins resort in Minehead between the semi-finals and the final of the Players Championship Finals. It is Luke Humphries who deals with these circumstances much better than his opponent who is visibly nervous. Gawlas gets two darts on the double in the first leg, but they go astray and then he never finds his game again and loses with 0-6.
