On November 25 the Belgian Dimitri van den Bergh wins the World Youth Championship for the second time. In the final he defeats German player Martin Schindler, who plays his first youth world title.

During the qualifying day for the final, 96 players make a shot to the final battle. After 32 groups of three players, 32 players remain who continue to play in a knockout phase towards the final. Among these 32 players are the Dutch players Geert Nentjes, Berry van Peer, Melvin de Fijter, Mike van Duivenbode and Justin van Tergouw. Only Nentjes and Van Duivenbode are able to survive the first knockout round.

In the last sixteen it’s exit for Van Duivenbode. 'The Pigeon' loses 6-5 to Christian Bunse. Nentjes beats Justin Smith 6-2, but still has to bow his head in the quarter finals for Martin Schindler (6-0). Van den Bergh successively defeats Thomas Lovely and Christian Bunse for a spot in the semi-finals.

Both semi-finals aren’t very exiting: Schindler wins 6-3 against Callan Rydz and Van den Bergh is too strong for Ted Evetts (6-1). During the final on the main stage of the Players Championship Finals, it’s clear that the title will go to Van den Bergh for the second year in a row. The Belgian scores well and also finishes strong. He takes a 3-0 lead with a 151-finish, to win the game 6-3 and to score an average of 100.44. This makes him the first player ever to win the youth World Championship twice.
