England are the defending champions. Joshua Richardson & Scott Williams won in Spain in 2022.
The quarterfinals are played between a nice mix of Eastern and Western European countries. In addition to the major powers of England, Ireland and Northern Ireland, the quarterfinals of the pairs tournament also include countries such as Serbia, Sweden, Croatia and the Czech Republic.
England is the only country in the quarterfinals that still has both pairs in the battle. However, the English lose the duo Paul Milford & Ricky King. They lose to the Czech duo Pavel Drtil & Alexander Masek 4-1. The other English duo, Scott Mitchell & Cameron Crabtree, narrowly win the match by beating the Serbian duo Oliver Ferenec & Mladen Radosavljevic 4-1. In the clash between the Irish and Northern Irish, Conor Heneghan & Michael Flynn beat their northern neighbours 4-1 and then face their eastern neighbours, Mitchell & Crabtree, in the semi-final. Johan Engstrom & Andreas Harryson from Sweden advance to the semi-final against the Czech Republic by beating Ivaca Cavric & Marko Janjic from Croatia 4-1.
Sweden and England advance to the final by beating Ireland and the Czech Republic 5-3 respectively. Johan Engstrom & Andreas Harrysson are crowned the champions of the WDF Europe Cup Men’s Pairs 2024.
This is the fourth time that Sweden has won gold in this event. The first time was in 1980, when the Europe Cup was held in Ebbw Vale, Wales and Bjorn Enqvist & Stefan Lord were the strongest. A Swedish duo also won gold in 1982 and 1988.
