The Nordic Darts Masters 2022 were held on June 10-11 at the Forum Copenhagen Arena in Denmark. Dimitri Van den Bergh would run away with the title. The Belgian played strong throughout the tournament, winning successively against the Dane Benjamin Drue-Reus, Gerwyn Price, Michael Smith and in the final against Gary Anderson.
In the first round, none of the Scandinavian or Baltic players manage to win their match. Daniel Larsson comes closest, taking five legs against Gary Anderson. In the quarterfinals, Michael Smith beats Fallon Sherrock with great difficulty 10 to 6. Gary Anderson plays a great match against compatriot Peter Wright beating him 10-4. James Wade deals with Michael van Gerwen in a moderate match with the same numbers. As mentioned before, Van den Bergh beats Gerwyn Price 10-5.
In the semi-finals, Gary Anderson is 11-7 too strong for James Wade and Van den Bergh beats 'Bullyboy' Michael Smith 11-4. The final is never really close because Dimitri Van den Bergh quickly gains a large lead, and that lead is never in danger. He beats Gary Anderson 11-5 to take his first World Series tournament win of his career. For Anderson, that counter remains at six.
