The fourth edition of the Nordic Darts Masters was held in Copenhagen, Denmark on June 7 and 8. The PDC sends eight players to Copenhagen to compete against the strongest players from the Nordic & Baltic region. This year they are Dimitri Van den Bergh, Stephen Bunting, Gerwyn Price, Luke Humphries, Michael Smith, Rob Cross, Nathan Aspinall and Peter Wright.
Of the eight, only defending champion Peter Wright is upset. Wright, who is already not in very good form, loses out to the well-playing Swede Johan Engstrom. One round later the tournament is over for the last Scandinavian. Engstrom loses 6-1 to world champion Luke Humphries. Furthermore, Gerwyn Price, Michael Smith and Rob Cross also win their quarterfinals relatively easily.
Gerwyn Price and Rob Cross continued the good form of a week earlier when they also reached the final of the U.S. Darts Masters in New York. The Iceman beats Michael Smith 7-3 and Voltage is too good on the day for Humphries 7-4.
In the final, Price quickly takes a lead of four legs to zero. A 170 finish helps Cross back into the match, and he manages to peg back to 4-5, but Cross doesn't get any closer. With an 8-4 victroy, Gerwyn Price can now call himself Nordic Darts Master 2024. With the victory, he ends a series of three lost World Series finals and takes his second World Series title after the 2022 New Zealand Darts Masters.
