In 2004, the WDF Europe Cup returns to Finland for the third time. After Turku in 1986 and Kerava in 1992, Tampere is now the place of action. The fourteenth edition of the WDF Europe Cup was held at the Scandic Hotel Rosendahl from 13 to 16 October. With 21 participating countries for men and 20 for women, it can safely be called a successful edition. Estonia makes its debut at this tournament.
Despite the relatively lesser result in the team tournament, it is still Raymond van Barneveld, Vincent van der Voort, Mario Robbe & Dick van Dijk who win the gold on behalf of the Netherlands. For Raymond van Barneveld the third gold besides the singles and the pairs together with Vincent van der Voort. The Dutch collect a lot of points, especially in the singles and pairs, and finish on 121 points. England comes in second with 107 points and took the silver. The bronze is for Finland with 79 points. The lost team final of Scotland makes them finish fourth with 72 points, well before Sweden which finish fifth with 48 points.
