The second edition of the International Darts League was supposed to take place at the same venue as the first year in The Hague. However, one month before the tournament a big fire raging through the complex made sure the tournament has to be re-located. The tournament moved from The Hague to Zoetermeer, where it was played from 8 to 16 May, at the Silverdome.
It made little difference to Raymond van Barneveld. The second edition would also get his name on the Cup and this year his wins was even more convincing than the year before. In the quarterfinals he defeated the young James Wade 6-2. One round later Darryl Fitton was brushed aside 9-2 and in the final, former world champion, Tony David was no match for the Dutchman. Barney won 13-5 and took his second title in a row.
The lower half of the schedule provided a lot of tension. In the quarterfinals a decisive set was needed twice between Hankey & King and between Adams and David, with the latter winning both. In the semi-finals Tony David beats Mervyn King, again in a deciding set.
