The third edition of the Hungarian Darts Trophy was held in Budapest, Hungary from 22 to 24 September. Dave Chisnall took the title during a EuroTour tournament for the third time in 2023, after beating Luke Humphries in the final.

Chisnall is having a strong EuroTour year and goes to Hungary as the first seeded player. In his first match he faces Scott Mitchell. The Englishman is playing at a EuroTour tournament for the first time in his career, but cannot compete with Chisnall who wins 6-2. In the last sixteen, Chisnall faces Rowby-John Rodriguez. 'Chizzy' throws a good match and beats the Austrian 6-1.

The real test awaits Chisnall in the quarter-finals: he will meet Michael van Gerwen. It will be a match in which both men perform well, but Chisnall ultimately proves to be the strongest with a 6-4 victory. During the semi-finals, the man in the yellow shirt will meet a man in yellow pants: Scott Williams. For the first time, Williams is in the semi-finals of a EuroTour tournament and he does not give up easily: Chisnall wins, but with a narrow score of 7-5.

Chisnall has reached the final and will face Luke Humphries. 'Cool Hand' is seeded third for this tournament and wins successively against Keane Barry (6-2), Martin Schindler (6-1), Luke Woodhouse (6-0) and Gerwyn Price (7-4). During all these matches, Humphries managed to throw an average of over a hundred.

Chisnall and Humphries will meet each other for the third time this year in the final of a EuroTour tournament. The first two finals were won by Chisnall, but Humphries is doing everything he can to take home the cup this time. He starts the match with a 170 finish and moments later he hits a nine-darter (his first on TV and his third this year). Yet it does not help him to win the tournament: it is Chisnall who wins the all-deciding leg with an average of almost 105, allowing him to call himself a Hungarian Darts Trophy winner for the first time. Humphries just misses out on the title, but ends the tournament with a 100+ average in every match he played.
