In 2012 the PDC launches the Euro Tour. On the European continent, the Pro Tour tournaments disappear and the tournaments are played on big stages with big audiences in the venue.
In the second year there are eight tournaments in the series. England, Gibraltar, The Netherlands and Austria each get one stop and Germany is visited four times. Sixty-four players compete in the first round on two stages. From the second round the tournament continues on one stage.
The German Darts Masters 2013 was played from 20 to 22 September in Sindelfingen. After the European Darts Trophy this was the second time the players visited Sindelfingen in 2013.
In 2012 Adrian Lewis had won the German Darts Masters, but he lost in the second round this year to Kevin Painter. The surprising winner would be Steve Beaton who was too strong for Mervyn King in the final. It was the second final for The King in 2013 on the Euro Tour. Beaton played an excellent tournament, losing only seven legs in his five games before the final.
