In 2012 the PDC launches the Euro Tour. On the European continent, the Pro Tour tournaments disappear and the tournaments are played on big stages with big audiences in the venue.
In the first year there are five tournaments in the series. The Netherlands and Austria each get one stop and Germany is visited three times. Sixty-four players compete in the first round on two stages. From the second round the tournament continues on one stage.
The German Darts Masters 2012 were played in Sindelfingen. It is the fourth tournament in a series of five, and for the fourth time, there is also another winner. Adrian Lewis is the one who puts his name on the trophy. He beats Ian White in the final. No one comes close to in the tournament. Four of the six matches he wins 6-1 and the other two games, including the final he wins 6-3.
For the second time in the Euro Tour, two nine-darters are thrown this weekend. Both on the main stage. First it's Mark Webster who does it in his game against Andree Welge in the first round and in round three Ian White's does the same against Andy Hamilton.
