The Belgian Darts Open was held in Wieze, Belgium from March 8-10. It’s the 1st EuroTour in 2024. Luke Littler takes his first EuroTour title bij beating Rob Cross in the final.
Littler starts off the tournament in the second round against the Polish Krzysztof Ratajski, who he beats 6-3. In the next round he faces off against the Australian Damon Heta, who also loses 6-3. In the quarter finals he plays against Dutchman Jermaine Wattimena. Wattimena isn’t strong enough to stop Littler either and leaves the field after a 6-2 loss. In the semifinals Littler plays against the German Ricardo Pietreczko and wins 7-3.
Littler places for a final against Rob Cross. Cross also starts off in the second round and reaches the final after victories against Lukas Wenig (6-5), Danny Noppert (6-1), Ryan Searle (6-2) and Gerwyn Price (7-3).
It’s a close final, and both manage to put down a 100+ average. The score is 5-5 when Littler manages to throw the perfect leg, his third one this year. Cross is not deterred, and takes the next two legs for 7-6. But it’s Littler who takes it in the end with 8-7.
