The first edition of the Australian Darts Masters, held on 9 and 10 August at the WIN Entertainment Centre in Wollongong Australia, is won by Gerwyn Price. He beats Luke Littler 8-1 in the final.
In 2024, the PDC goes Down Under with, in addition to Gerwyn Price and Luke Littler, Luke Humphries, Michael Smith, Rob Cross, Dimitri Van den Bergh, Peter Wright and Damon Heta. The 'local' players in Australia are Rob Modra, Stuart Coburn, Joe Comito, Jeremy Fagg, Haupai Puha, Simon Whitlock, Brenton Lloyd and John Hurring.
None of the local players manage to win their match. New Zealander Haupai Puha comes closest, losing in an eleventh and decisive leg to Rob Cross. On his way to the final, Gerwyn Price beats Brenton Lloyd, Damon Heta and Peter Wright. Luke Littler in turn beats Rob Modra, Michael Smith and Dimitri Van den Bergh. Both semi-finals are a true spectacle that end in 7-6.
In the final, Price is a size too big for Littler this time. The Iceman quickly runs out to a big lead thanks to strong finishing and he does not give that lead away.
It is Gerwyn Price's second World Series victory of 2024 after he also won the Nordic Darts Masters earlier.
