A Dutch lady won the first edition of the Ladies World Darts Trophy. Mieke de Boer eliminated two compatriots on her way to the final (2-1 against Karin Krappen and 2-0 against Francis Hoenselaar). She defeated Crissy Manley 3-1 in the final to claim the title.
Reigning ladies World Champion Trina Gulliver did not survive the quarterfinal. She surprisingly lost 2-1 to Scotland’s Anne Kirk. Finalist Manley saw off Kirk in the semi-final and sent home Belgian Vicky Pruim in the quarterfinal.
