The New South Wales Darts Masters were held at the WIN Entertainment Center in Wollongong Australia on August 19-20. The tournament was won by Jonny Clayton. He beats James Wade 8-1 in the final.
The trip to New South Wales was initially planned to be made in 2020 but had to be postponed for two years due to the Covid virus. In the first round, the eight PDC top players compete against 8 regional players. Only Michael van Gerwen loses in this round, 6-5 to Simon Whitlock.
After beating Haupai Puha 6-1 in the first round, Jonny Clayton then beats Michael Smith and Joe Cullen. James Wade successively beats Gordon Mathers, Dimitri Van den Bergh and Gerwyn Price en route to the final.
The final is a one-sided fight. The tank of James Wade is empty, and Johnny Clayton easily takes the win 8-1. It is Jonny Clayton's first win at a regular World Series tournament. The Ferret has previously won the World Series of Darts Finals in 2021. The same is more or less true for James Wade, he has already won the World Series of Darts Finals but has still never won a regular World Series tournament.
