The fifth edition of the German Darts Open was played in Jena, Germany from 8 to 10 September. Krysztof Ratajski won the title after he defeated Stephen Bunting in the final.
For Ratajski, the tournament starts in the second round. He beats Ricky Evans 6-3 and advances to the last sixteen. A confrontation with Dave Chisnall awaits there: 'Chizzy' has already won some titles this year, but loses 6-2 to the Pole in Jena. In the quarter-finals Danny Noppert will be Ratajski's opponent. 'The Polish Eagle' wins 6-3 and qualifies for the semi-finals. There he will meet Josh Rock: the young Northern Irishman seems to be the favorite, but sees Ratajski triumph 7-4 and manages to reach the final.
In that final he will meet Stephen Bunting. 'The Bullet' wins this tournament against Mickey Mansell (6-4), Joe Cullen (6-5), Martin Schindler (6-1), Andrew Gilding (6-5) and Wesley Plaisier (7-6). The final battle ultimately goes to Ratajski: the Pole manages to win 8-3 and, after the 2019 Gibraltar Darts Open, wins a EuroTour tournament for the second time.
