The 2022 New Zealand Darts Masters were held at the Globox Arena in Hamilton on August 26 and 27. The victory goes to world number one Gerwyn Price. He beats fellow countryman Jonny Clayton in the final.
Hamilton is the third and final stop down under during the 2022 World Series. In the first round there are no real surprises, or it is the fact that Fallon Sherrock loses in this round to New Zealander Kayden Milne.
Gerwyn Price beats James Wade in the quarterfinals and Dimitri Van den Bergh in the semi-finals. Jonny Clayton beats successively Michael van Gerwen and Michael Smith en route to the final. In the final Clayton initially takes a small lead but in the end Price is the stronger of the two and wins 8-4.
It is Gerwyn Price's first regular World Series victory; Jonny Clayton almost manages to make it two wins in a row after being the best in Wollongong a week earlier, but his tally also stays at one.
