In 2008 the Zuiderduin Masters gets a ladies competition as well. Lisa Ashton wins the first edition of this new tournament. Ashton defeated the absolute favourite Trina Gulliver 2-0 in sets in the final. Eight ladies play in a knock-out format for the title.
Ashton proved to be a tough opponent for everyone. She ended the hopes of Julie Gore in the quarterfinals and she defeated Francis Hoenselaar in the semi-final as well.
