German Darts Masters (WS)

In 2017 Germany was added as a stop on the World Tour. After the success of the Euro Tour tournaments in Germany, the PDC also wants to play the World Series in Germany. As with most other World Series tournaments, the PDC brings eight top players to Germany. In the first round, these eight play against a German qualifier.

The first year it is played at the Castello Arena in Düsseldorf, a year later all spectator records are broken in the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen when 20.000 fans come to watch the tournament. In 2019 the Lanxess Arena in Cologne stages the event.

Scottish ace Peter Wright defeats Phil Taylor in the final of the first edition of the German Darts Masters. A year later Mensur Suljovic claims his first World Series win beating Dimitri Van den Bergh in his first senior PDC TV final. Peter Wright reclaims his title in 2019 beating German ace Gabriel Clemens in the final.
